Angela Jerath
Angela Jerath completed her undergraduate and medical degrees at the Univeristy of London (United Kingdom). Specialty and subspecialty cardiac anesthesiology, and critical care training were conducted in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia and Canada. Dr. Jerath has a Masters of Science in clinical epidemiology and health policy research from the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME), University of Toronto. She is a clinician scientist and associate professor with the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, University of Toronto, and adjunct scientist with the Institute of Clinical Evaluative Sciences (IC/ES).
The evaluation of health care delivery models is essential to enhancing patient safety, improving health outcomes and creating innovative models of care delivery. Dr. Jerath’s academic research is focused on the evaluation of perioperative care and critical care models using mixed research methods, and introducing new healthcare technologies and processes.
Dr. Jerath has led volatile anesthetic drug use, technology and education in North American critical care settings. Her work includes studies assessing safety, efficacy and led to regulatory approvals.
Dr. Jerath is co-leading the SAVE-ICU trial.
