I was born in Egypt and immigrated to Canada when I was three. I grew up in the GTA before going to Western University for my undergraduate degree in science. I am back at Western where I am now in my final year of medical school.

During my studies I was fascinated by cardiac and respiratory physiology and developed an interest in critical care and anesthesia. Currently I am involved in researching the effects of volatile versus intravenous anesthetics on inflammatory markers in models of lung injury as part of the SAVE-ICU trial.

Outside of school I love swimming, weightlifting, cycling, and cooking. I’m always looking to explore new recipes during my free time!
