Prior to medical medical school Hira completed a Master’s degree through the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Toronto, studying the molecular mechanism of albumin transport microvascular transport with potential applications in understanding the pathophysiology of sepsis and ARDS. During medical school Hira developed an interest in infectious disease and critical care. The former she explored through clinical research in the lab of Dr. Andrea Boggild in the area of Tropical and Travel Medicine. The latter which has lead to her involvement in the SAVE-ICU project. She currently completing her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Western Ontario.
